    Vegan Pizza

    Veganuary maybe over, but that doesn’t mean people have stopped being vegan! If you still don’t have a Vegan menu option, why not introduce a vegan pizza to the mix? A Vegan Pizza is very easy to do and will use products you most likely would be ordering anyway. Most pizza bases are vegan friendly, so the only things you need to watch out for are vegan cheese and vegan toppings. Fortunately, we offer plenty of options for both.

    Development Chef Mike House put together some beautiful rustic style pizzas to show off how easy it is to create a mouth-watering, vegan friendly pizza.

    Italian Vegan Pizza 1

    Mike starts with a traditional Italian style pizza using the Pizza Plus 12” Thin & Crispy Pizza Crust. Using Maggi Rich & Rustic Tomato Sauce, and a mixture of Violife’s Vegan cheese alternatives; Mature Grated and the Mozzarella Flavoured Grated, you can achieve a cheesy mixture which will melt quickly and evenly in the oven. The Violife Vegan Cheeses’ might just be the best vegan shredded cheese we have ever tasted. It is made of a mixture of ingredients, with a primary base of coconut oil. The flavours mimic those of traditional Mozzarella and Cheddar so your usual 70/30 mix should replicate a traditional pizza most accurately.

    The toppings include a mix of Basil, SunBlush Tomatoes, Rocket, Olives, Capers and Red Onion. You can customise this one however you like and still get a top-quality Vegan pizza (just don’t add meat!).

    Hummus Vegan Pizza

    If you don’t want to add a vegan cheese to your shopping list, why not try a hummus topped pizza instead? This Pizza uses Humous as a base and is topped with artichokes, fire roasted red peppers and olives. The Hummus works as it has a similar consistency/ texture to cheese whilst remaining wet enough to replicate the sauce. It is also rich in flavour which means only a few complimentary toppings will do the job here.

    Hoisin Vegan Pizza

    Tuesday the 1st of Feb marked the Chinese New Year. What better time to introduce a Chinese inspired Vegan Pizza? The Hoisin sauce base is the star of the show here. Surrounded by sliced mushrooms, peppers, and spring onion. The year of the Tiger might just be the year of the Vegans too!

    Italian Vegan Pizza 2

    Next up is another more traditional pizza which uses the new Violife Vegan Cheese alternatives as well as the Maggi Rich & Rustic Tomato Sauce. This pizza also features the Moving mountains sausages. Mike has cut the moving mountains sausage into small chunks here, but you could also roll them up into balls to replicate a meatball topping. Mike adds sliced onions, sliced red peppers and Spring onions, topped off with a single leaf of basil to give it a touch of sophistication!

    BBQ Vegan Pizza

    Last but certainly not least, we have a sweet and smoky BBQ pizza. Although controversial, the BBQ base pizza has become a staple pizza offering for even the most traditional pizza place. Mike uses Ben’s Original BBQ sauce with the Violife vegan cheese alternative. You can see the versatility of the moving mountains sausages here too. Mike has rolled small chunks of the vegan sausage up into vegan meatballs.

    As an alternative, you could try making a BBQ jackfruit pizza using our Triple Lion Young Jackfruit in Brine instead of the Moving Mountains Sausages.

    Red onions, sweet corn and Jalapenos complete this smoky ensemble.
