A FOODIE FAMILY established in 1980.

We are an independent, agile, family-run business with a foodie hunger. Our people embrace and embody our family values of trust, integrity, respect and innovation. These values have helped us to build a proud history of forging loyal relationships with our customers.
Our founder, Peter Bateman, is now Chairman and Peter’s son, Charles, is Managing Director. From our depot in Boston, we serve a diverse range of customers in 17 counties across the Eastern side of the UK. Discover if we deliver in your area by viewing the map at the bottom of this page.

CHEF INSPIRED

Headed up by Mike House, the development chef team thrive on helping our customers, whether that is conceiving a whole new menu or designing a more efficient kitchen layout. Adding value and finding solutions is their forte, areas of expertise include menu and recipe development, staff training, food costings, generating improved GP, portion control, reducing food waste, stock taking, operational advice and product knowledge.
Our love of food is not just confined to our development chef team, many of our account managers have previously worked as chefs.

PROVENANCE & SUSTAINABILITY

The regions surrounding our depot produce a wealth of amazing produce, not just vegetables but also scrumptious food such as artisan cheese and ice cream from a family farm. Working in a sustainable and ethical way doesn’t just inform our sourcing choices, we apply the same responsible standards to our depot operation to help reduce our impact on the environment.

BUTCHERY

We don’t just deal in meat, we have an artisan butchery (16,000 ft² for those of you who like numbers), founded by Chris Jelly (C.J.). The Himalayan salt wall in our dry-ageing room produces sensational results. Chris and his team of butchers skilfully prepare orders to your exact specifications, slicing, dicing, boning and trimming to perfection. Our butchery holds a SALSA accreditation, and all of our beef is Red Tractor and UK sourced.

FRESH PRODUCE

The lush Lincolnshire land surrounding us means we can locally source a huge variety of vegetables, fruit and potatoes. This not only cuts food miles but means we have fantastically fresh, perfect produce. Unfortunately we haven’t found any banana or pineapple growers nearby yet, but even when we source from exotic locations, we make sure we are dealing with growers who are sustainable and ethical.

We have a specialist fresh produce preparation facility on-site. The range was established by our development chefs who created a solution to save time and food waste in the kitchen without compromising on quality. From chunky cut jenga chips to finely shredded cabbage, let us help you with your prep.

CHOICE & VALUE

As well as out specialist butchery and fresh produce, we have more than 4000 products across chilled, ambient, frozen and non-food categories. Our own brand, Chefs’ Selections, is award-winning and ever-expanding. From tinned tomatoes to Rainbow Cake, you can be confident of consistently high quality and great value.
Our multi-temperature vehicles allow us to seamlessly and safely deliver your strawberries, steak, spices, stilton and sanitiser, all at the same time. You won’t have to deal with a confusing delivery schedule or worry about food miles, we organise our deliveries to be convenient for our customers.

PEACE OF MIND

Keeping track of allergens and nutritional data is a doddle with Erudus. All of our customers are given a free account for this online tool which also highlights dietary details like Vegan or Halal.
Our BRC accreditation is testament to the highest levels of quality and safety adhered to by everyone at Pilgrim Foodservice. Our technical team are always busy auditing, testing, probing and swabbing to make sure we are outstanding in all areas of safety and compliance. They can help you too by providing advice such as preparing for EHO visits or understanding allergies.
Our modern fleet of 56 multi-temperature vehicles are the pride and joy of our marvellous drivers. Your order will be delivered to your kitchen in perfect condition and at the correct temperature (and with a friendly smile!).
