Based in Spilsby, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Modens is an artisan bakery creating award-winning Lincolnshire Plum Bread. Modens still follow the original recipe developed in 1936 by Leonard Moden. The delicious Lincolnshire loaf does not actually contain plums, the name refers to the old term for drying or ?plumming? fruit. Moulded by hand and baked in individual tins, the loaves have a beautiful golden crust and are full of plump sultanas and raisins.
